Well England scored a few more than I expected in the Test Match, and Muttiah Mulitheran is now the world record holder for test wickets. England then struggled to get wickets, still its an open game, if England take a couple of early wickets tomorrow then they have a chance of a 1-0 lead.
Its good to hear that the school teacher in Sudan is getting released. It seems ridiculous to us taht some-one makes a cultural faux pas and ends up in jail, with crowds baying for her to be executed. Good on the two peers who went out there, no marks for the Foreign Office though.
I have read today that alot of Asian women are have babies aborted once they find out that the sex of the unborn child is female. Apparently it is common for them to go to India to have the sex told, as some NHS trusts will not tell them the sex.
Well the weather started well this morning and then got worse, wet and windy. Winter is definately here now.

Hi, Sunday morning, poor weather. Last night was thunder and lightning, with heavy rain.
Today listened to the Test Match, England v Sri Lanka from Kandy. England appeared to be going quite well until they lost a few wickets, now I don't expect they will get more than 250, unless one of the tailenders backs up Collingwood.
Quiet day at home as my wife Jill is working until 4pm. She is a paramedic.
I have read the Sunday paper, not much news in that today, except for the more revelations about financial backers of the labour party. It all seems a bit of mess. Some of the MP's want the public to sponsor the political parties, but I don't see why I as a taxpayer should fund some-one to get elected just so that they can be an MP, and then receive a fat salary, large expenses and all the perks that go with the job. If they want it that bad let them work for the privilege.
Thats my gripe of the day.

December Begins
Oh well, another day, another month. back to work again. Have a quiet morning.
Listening to the Test Match on the radio. England are doing well, had Sri Lanka at 42 for 5 at one stage, now 180 for 7 at tea. matthew Hoggard has bowled really well by the sounds of it. Lets hope it continues this way. This test is being played in Kandy. This is the only test venue in the world using a college ground. I visited here several years ago.
The only other main items of news seem to be the poor lady in the Sudan, and the latest Labour Party shambles, over the cash donations.
